EDUCATION AGENT |

for me.... go to JH, D is very helpful... and very reliable... compared to B***... B*** is "manis" di mulut... but no action. I did have experience with BLau... initially so active and yet after that didnt even frwd emails frm the uni... i almost lost the offer luckily i checked myself and took things in my own hands... BLau slow at responding... Thats what i wanna share... as apparently, i am not the only use who endure the same experience with B***. And my experience with JH, was great... very helpful and tried his best to assist in anyway possible... despite that i didnt get any offer (as my course is competitive) but D was such a great help and he is one good guy too! Tell you what... when i was at B***, they badmouth other education agents as well which didnt happen while i was with JH. Okay guys.... ciao...

I even experience this too but worst than you. My ex-boyfriend (been with him for 4 years) was jobless. He keep asking for money and promise to pay me back but he never did. If I don't give him the money, he will curse, slap and beat me. Sometimes whenever I put my wallet in the car/room, he would quietly take my money and pretend that nothing happen. He even took my ATM card and withdrawl it all during payday. He would spend the money on his lovely car or his friends because he like to show that he is rich but actually he's not. Eventhough I left him 6 years ago, he's still spying and threatening me. Luckily, I have my family, fiancee, relatives and friends to protect me. I know it hard for you to forget what he did to you but you should be glad that he wouldn't disturb you again. Not like me. So my advise is keep on going with your life, never give up and good luck in finding your true love.

Corporate thinking eludes us |

Thank you for your comments.
At last after waiting for several days, thank God, there is some one reading and agreeing with my suggestions and ideas.
Sorry to say that, in spite of tremendous freedom of expression in BB opinion columns, still there are hurdles, obstacles, censoring, a bit of vested interests, reluctance, back peddling etc, etc.
Hence I consider HYS is an excellent forum for discussing these matters, but unfortunately not very much of serious discussion take place and not very many intellectuals and economists discuss important issues.
However there are far too many non-issues that are talked about( in HYS) in length- the issues that do not help in making Bumiputra community a business community similar to their Chinese compatriots in Brunei.
Indirectly BB encourages Jati Brunei to work hard and be enterprising, but there is no response from the individuals. Our people continue to be fruit and satay sellers and Gerai holders, and so the intellectuals and decision makers at the highest level of Govt. Administration should come up with some ideas as I have suggested to create corporate awakening among the Malays.
I am a layman too. Mine is not a blue print for huge changes, I hardly know much of economics, there should be a lot more discussions by the brainy ones.
But one thing , I am sure, as long as we remain this way, expecting Govt. employment and Govt. subsidy and enjoying easy going life and spending more than what we earn making use of credit facilities offered by foreign banks, I am sure industrially advanced nations of the Barat will continue to dominate our culture, religion, economy, politics, finance, business and even the length of our dress, and we will continue to be their slaves and clients.
History repetas itself. At present, in Iraq, that sad part of history is painfully being repeated and our hands are tied at the back, and we expect miracles to happen. God Knew Best.

Espeed |
|
What's wrong with e-speed? We've been suffering from lagness and slow speed with internet. Even the downloads from internet were slow. Not to mention gaming speed, some of the online games like Maplestory whole Bruneians suffered from lagness and frequent disconnection in the game whereas in Malaysia and Singapore, they can run the game smoothly.
Other games have the same lagness case too. By calling Brunet Call Centre, asking about what caused espeed line to be so unstable and we received the answer "I don't know" from them. Shouldn't they check for us or do something about it? Without a satisfication service, how are you going to be an ISP? As for other countries, their fees are cheap and have faster speed, and we Bruneians get this lousy services by paying $98 per month? Shouldn't we enjoy surfing the internet in a relaxing way?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts exactly. It only happens here. No where else. The speed is crap, the service well! its on its way down. I remember BMobile when they started. Their services were better than DST. Now, its the opposite. I basically canceled my BMobile phoneline coz their charges' the same and their expiry date for the prepaid got shortened.
I think when a company takes over a government facility to run a business, it makes them complacent cos they didn't have to start from scratch. So the attitude is 'Who Cares, afterall we are the monopoly here'. That sucks big time.

Hi Girl, I knew you're hurt. Maybe u need a 'break' here. I mean try to relaxing ur mind a lil bit. Eg go to the beach, or meet ur friends yg bleh dbawa begila(becali saja kerajannya) or if you're muslim, bawa sembahyang n berdoaa.
I don't say it'll immediately work, but u can try dear. You may also meet counsellor that can help u on this. This will be a best way in solving urs'. But as I said, when u r muslims dont 4get sembahyahg, baca doa n quran jua. Insyaallah it'll help..

to p_ramli - No consideration allowed! |
|
No offense at all but p_ramli, do you think this is an apprioprate manner to get his stuff acknowledge? In fact he has already been acknowledge by the principle and SA department. What can they do? You want them to search for his wallet from top to bottom at MD and also search the Sungai Akar since he told the principal late? Call in police to MD to track down the thief? Bring in trained dogs to help in the searching?
Wallet are small issues to me. I believe this kind of acknowledgement will only be encounter with Primary 1 students. Form 6 students? I have never heard about that. Imagine, cases of people losing HP which cost more than the wallet also have not posted here! Think again, what can the public help other than commenting them? Are you expecting volunteers from here to go help search his wallet?
Again I would repeat my statement "We have grown up! You can't expect others to look after your staff". During my days in UK after MD, do you think I have never experience that? There are a lot to say if I want to be acknowledge too!
Let me tell you one case from my personal experience.
There is a refrigerator that are shared by all the room-mates. I am the only Malay and the remaining are the locals there. One day, I bought my food and put it there and have my name written down. Then the room-mates just took it away right in front of me. I told them that they had taken my food and they refused to return to me. So I had to go to the warden to have him clarify the issue. I even bring along my receipt of purchase.
Guess what is the reply of the warden.
=> You should responsible for this case. What? Why? "Isn't it obvious"; said the warden. "Now you go say sorry to them". FULL STOP.
If this is the case, what should you do? Post your anger in newpapers and forums throught UK to be acknowlege? You will only be the laughing stock!

Thanks for everyone who leave a reply here, 1 thing I want to clarify is I bring my wallet with me all the time, I never left it in my bag. I am just not satisfied with the school's action, why can't they do something other than saying "We can't do anything."? I know it's my own fault, but can the school at least do something to help me to retrieve my wallet? Can the school inform the prefects so that they can help a bit? I think less than 10 prefects know about this. I know it's impossible to search everyone's bags or pockets or whatever, but a small announcement to the whole school is ok right?
"Assalamualaikum.
Pls dont say MD is getting worse and worse. I heard the hostel is getting renovated and u'r saying MD is getting worse? Hah.. miss hostel life so much. U shud say the school cooperation and management are very slow.. dont say MD is worsen, as if the whole college is teruk. I once studied at MD. The stealing2 case of wallets, purses, bags and even textbooks is already a norm. Even during my time, alot of stuff were stolen esp when begs were left outside the library. Honestly, i was library fan. Every PS or free time i went to library and studied or crita2 with my frens. i left my beg EMPTY outside the library and brought all my stuff inside, including two thick files, purse, pensilcase, calculator, cell phone and blazer (i used to be a prefect, just wanna show off abit haha). so that point is, dont leave ur stuff. Keep ur stuff in locker? do u have one? well u do, i advice u not to keep ur purse in locker bcoz my dear girl, its a purse, alright? now, whom to be blamed? its urself. dont blame anybody, SA stuff, principal, ur frens, the theft, whosoever. I understand u have ur money, ID, kokoberry stampcards inside ur purse..but then, think back. If only u brought along ur purse, it wudnt be stolen. its not good to blame people and judge SA stuff they are not doing they work and just chasing those people with long hair blablabla.
All i can say is i pity u. i know how it feels losing ur purse esp when u have ur ID inside. Try ur best to get back ur purse. if u dont it back, well usahakn th ID mu atu dulu. Make an official report at police station. Next time jaga barang2 mua atu bisai2 lai, jgn dtinggalkn walaupun skjap.. as u said jua drng SA stuff is not reliable and they wont help u. Jadinya ani sbgai peringtan & pengajaranmu in the future. Pasankn jua kwan2mu. Aku ikhlas ni =) jgn ke jiwa, aku bnr2 ikhlas ni haha majal."------------>
Physical renovation of school is just the external look, how about the students in it? We have a proverb in Chinese saying that external surface of a mandarin may look shiny as it's new, but once you peel it and have a look inside, it looks like some old and stained cotton. I'm not blaming the staff, I'm just trying to say that why they are not willing to help to look for it.
"You can only blame yourselves and the one who took your wallet for both of you dont have a strong roots in the teachings of Islam and MIB!------> "
I want to tell you that I am not a Malay nor Muslim, don't talk MIB and Islam to me. If the thief is a Malay, that shows that his/her previous school doesn't teaches him/her MIB and Islamic studies in a proper way. If he or she is a malay and is a muslim, who should be blamed?
"Please! Do considerate the situation. You have grown up! Don't be like a "baby" and expect everything to spoon feed you and please do not tarnish the reputation of Maktab Duli and the principles and staff there!"----->
I did not tarnish the reputation of MD, I'm only telling the truth. And also please don't expect the school environment and the attitude of staff doesn't change forever.
"your valuable things lost MEANS u are CARELESS!
MD's principals - d best n caring principals ive ever knew
"..which I think they are lying in Sungai Akar now" - y dun u go n search for your wallet der? =D hehehe
"what happened to MD?" - should be what happened to d STUDENT in MD? eehehe
peace..."
---------> Don't laugh, I tell you, wait till you lost your own wallet, then you will know...
"Mr/Miss..
I was an ex MD student, about 4-5 years ago, and the case of stolen wallets, pencil cases, hp (back then hp was allowed, we didn't have msn) was ABSOLUTELY COMMON. Yes the SA staffs should be informed about the missing stuffs.. but nothing much they can do here.. I'm sure that the population in MD is about 2000, and checking everyone's school bags/pockets are not possible. And you see, the SA staffs are also responsible with multiple admin tasks and teachings and the most they can do is put a notice on the board. Of course they would look into your problems as well and tried to look for the suspects / culprits, but it cannot be done straight away. PLUS, why don't you refer back to the source, did you carry your wallet all the time? where did you last put it? who were you with that day? where did you go? this should give you the idea.. please don't blame the principal and SA staffs, as nothing much can be done here.. if you want, seek help from the prefects. Or else, be careful next time.. don't bring too much money to school."
------------>I carry my wallet with me all the time. I din't bring large sum of money to school, I don't mind I lost the money, I just want my wallet back, along with the IC and buddha jade.

Agreed with what you say, wat i also like to share with the employment of local atu, I think labour department should think more professionally. Sometime, local ani jadi penghias of their company so they can get a quota or contract with government or any semi government. Once they win the multi million contract, this local employee will be terminate one by one due to no more job or wat so ever. and the position will be soon filled by foreigners.
The reasons I say this, it is a fact and happen to few of my fren there when I just about to look for a job. I heard, they just about to finish their contract with semi government company.
I think, this is politic to get a contract in Brunei and we hope the labour department can look into this matter.
I Hope this forum can go further till any relevant department look into this matter.
