ehem..for point no.2, non taken tho..hehe.but just wanna clear out something.. its actually the individual's decision to become a teacher. we dont simply 'end up' as a teacher.. we hav to undergo PGCE (post graduate certificate of education) at ubd for 1 year IF we want to become a teacher.. our engineering course content is actually similar to those doing B.sc (education) in physics at ubd. so, it isnt mismatched at all.lagipun brunei lack of science stream teachers..so why not?

-------------

postgraduates not initially trained to become a teacher actually have to take up PGCE.. meaning they have a total of 5 years of studying. 4years of subject content + 1 year of education courses. not that much difference with those already in the teaching programe; they also do 1 year of education courses but only 3 years of subject content. i think. those doing engineering courses will teach physics. biologists will teach bio and etc etc.. not mismatched at all.

maybe those discussing unemployment issue should post in malay. i think most of d complainers cant understand english that well.. i noticed that most postings writtn in english are very well said but unfortunately they'r only replied by other english speaking ppl.. then d good english posts just end and disapear after everyone (english posters) seem to be in agreement but d malay ones are still active with d same problems.

engineering teachers

degrees and fahrenheits
the problems we are facing right now is

1. scarcity of jobs!, the number of graduates exceed the number of jobs available (i'am refering to govt sectors), since majority of us still prefering to go for govt sectors, although there are options in the private sectors

2. jobs-mismatch-qualifications syndrome! eg. a degree in engineering but ended up as a teacher? (sorry if i offended someone), its just an example, its common nowadays!

3. too much competition!, its a jungle out there, people do almost anything just to get a decent job! (mengampu, main urang dalam dan mcm2 lagi)

4. are all overseas degrees here in brunei were legitimate and valid? or its just another piece of scroll bought out by money? (degree bebali), authorities should screen everyone!, one comes to mind, eg. a degree in medical practice but it doesnt show that character of a doctor by making poor decisions and no confidence, those who can judge can see it!

Post for drowning

I can't believe u stood up with him for more than a yr and even agreed to marry him. I feel sorry for u for having to realise this only now but fortunately it's not too late.

The more i understand the more i empathise with u. I can imagine how u felt n in ur earlier post u said y can't he just STOP. I'm sorry to say but sounds like he's really a big jerk and what Pretty Ugly said, sounds like a sex maniac. If he can stop telling then it's a different story. It's really hard to love someone and then get hurt over the same discussion everytime. I'm sure u can imagine if it carried on throughout ur marriage.

I can't understand what there is to defend himself with when he told u those things. It bugs me to think he does not respect u nor is a gentleman to think that he is making u feel uncomfortable or unhappy.

Mayb u can follow "Mysterious Lady's" advice for a few months seeing that u recently seek help thru HYS. But what she also said was right that if he can't change his attitude u deserve a better man. If it does come to that, i wish the best in u to be strong enough to leap out of the love trap. But that's a different case.

Anyway, this will b my last post coz there's nothing more i can say but good luck in ur future.

learning is a never ending process. we want Bruneian who can fluent English..not 'speaking kapal'
kitani mesti pun sikap ikut resmi padi...makin berisi makin tunduk...never satisfied or brag of something when it only way too little compare to others...

******************************************

Look who's talking. How many times do we hear senior officials struggling to prounounce some words in english...or even speak proper english for the matter of fact. Don't tell me that they stopped school at form 3. As you say learning is a never ending process. That doesn't mean you stopped learning even though you stopped school at form 3. These people might be slow academically but they might be brilliant at other aspect. They could be a brilliant mechanic...or a brilliant housebuilder or even a brilliant business person. So don't look down on them.

E-speed

What's wrong with e-speed? We've been suffering from lagness and slow speed with internet. Even the downloads from internet were slow. Not to mention gaming speed, some of the online games like Maplestory whole Bruneians suffered from lagness and frequent disconnection in the game whereas in Malaysia and Singapore, they can run the game smoothly.

Other games have the same lagness case too. By calling Brunet Call Centre, asking about what caused espeed line to be so unstable and we received the answer "I don't know" from them. Shouldn't they check for us or do something about it? Without a satisfication service, how are you going to be an ISP? As for other countries, their fees are cheap and have faster speed, and we Bruneians get this lousy services by paying $98 per month? Shouldn't we enjoy surfing the internet in a relaxing way?
